Yesterday afternoon the officials of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club assembled at the Albion Hotel to welcome Mr. Randolph Rose N.Z. champion long distance iminer, on his arrival in Gisborne, and Mr. R. W. Lamb, the well-known Australian champion cyclist, who a Hived on the previous day. The president of the club, Mr H. F. Forster, welcomed the two champions to Cisborne, and expressed the hope that their visit here would be enjoyable. He said both men were held in high esteem in the athletic world, and on behalf of the club thanked them for. coming to Gisborne to pavticiruifce in the club’s carnival on the following afternoon.
