M.C.O. IN BURMA. MATCHES AT RANGOON. SAXDHAM FAILS TO SCORE CENTURY FOR FIRST TIME IN TOUR. (Received Jan. 14. 11.20 p.m.) DELHI, Jan. 14. The Marylebone cricketers played two matches at Rangoon, the first against the Gymkhana Club, which was drawn, Parsons making ICO, which is the highest score either for or against Marylebone during the Indian tour. Tate took ten wickets and Hubert Ashton made 4S and 60 not out. The second match was against an All Burma side. Marylebone won by ten _wickets on the stroke of time. Tate took ten for 72. Rangoon is the first place where Sandham has not made a century.—Sum
MELBOURNE TEAM FOR NEW ZEALAND. HENDRY MAY NOT MAKE THE TRIP. (Received Jan. 15. 1.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Jan. 14. The Victorian Cricket Association has given consent to the Melbourne cricket team to send a team to New Zealand on condition that the consent of the Board of Control is obtained; that a Melbourne Club player chosen to play inter-State matches represent liis State, and that members of the team must be actual players in the Melbourne Cricket Club. Trnmbie says the conditions will be carried out, which probably means that Hendry will be unable to accompany the team.—U .P.A.

HAWKE'S BAY v. TARANAKI. BOWLERS TAKE CHARGE. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 14. Low scoring on a bowler’s wicket was a feature of the Hawke Cup match to-day, when Taranaki, who won the trophy from W anganui recently, were challenged by Hawke’s Bay/ Heavy rain overnight caused a postponement till the afternoon. The visitors won the toss and batted on a slow wicket. They made onlv 94 runs for the innings and then laranaki went in to make 89 for eight wickets by time stumps were drawn. The bowlers had charge of the game throughout, and were assisted by the wicket to secure some fine averages. Even so,* batting lacked enterprise and was generally disappointing, except in a few Hawke’s -Bay s best scorers were Lowry 26, Davis 15 O’Brien in) 25.
