The death occurred in \\ elhngtoh on Saturday ol Lady King, wife of Sir Triiby King. Lady King had been in bad health for some time. Mm had a stroke about ten days ago. The loss is a national one, as Lady King was of great assistance to her himhand in Plunket work. She was wellknown as a press writer oil hygiene—P.A.

General regret will be felt at the death on Saturday at Cook Hospital of Moke Maputaera, aged 27 years, who was very popular in sporting circles and had shown promise as an amateur boxer. On January 4, while working on the Arnwa in the roadstead. Mapufltcrn. who was familiarly known as “Big Mac,” was seriously injured through part of a block and tackle falling on his leg. rendering amputation necessary. Following the operation, lie gradually became worse and passed away as stated. An inquest will be opened to-day. and the funeral leftves Muriwai at 11 o’clock this morning for Maraetahi cemetery.
