N.Z. ,A. AND Id . ANNUAL UOA i'EPENLE. AMALGAMATION WITH NOHTHEitN UNION* UNSETTLED. - TAUMARUNUI, Jan. 15. The conference of delegates to the N.Z. Athletic, Cycling and Axeman's Union concluded last night. It was decided that the cycling championships this year be allocated to the West Coast Association, and die axemen’s championships were held over meantime. The next annual conference was fixed to be held :n Timaru in .January, ID2S. The names of T. and .J. Xicolls were removed from the disqualification list. Mr J. Jones, of Tangitu, represent-
ing the Northern Athletic Union, said lie personally favored amalgamation with the New Zealand Union, but, although the _ matter had been discussed by his union, little headway had been made. Mr J. Kennedy, the secretary, said the matter of the Northern Union Joining the Now Zealand Union v%as. still being discussed, and lie hoped that before next conference the two h idies would be one. The election of olliecrs resulted as follows:—President, Mr J. A. Hansen (Manaia, re-elected unopposed): vice-presidents, Messrs J- Collingwood (Wanganui), B.
