SMASH ON TAREWA HILL

Driving towards Morere yesterday in a motor lorry laden with furniture Mr W. H. Priestley, who resides in Hospital Road, met a car'at a bend on the Tarewa hill near Morere. in passing, the wheel of the 'lorry ran over the edge .of the bank and the vehicle ran down a short distance, then turned over and was badly smashed. The driver of the car, unaware that any mishap had occurred, proceeded on his way. Shortly after, another car coming from the direction of Morere came on the scene and the driver, Mrs C. N. Taylor, of Harris Street, found Mr Priestley climbing up the hank to the road. She assisted him and drove him into Cook Hospital, where it was discovered that he had sustained ft broken collar-hone and miner injuries.
