A HUGE CLAIM

SUM OF £450,000,000 INVOLVED. GERMAN CASE UNDER DAWES PLAN. (Received Jan. 17. 6.55 p.m.) PARIS, Jan. 16. An arbitration case involving £450.00 >,OOO. the largest amount ever involved in litigation, will open at the Hague on January 21. Germany is claiming the right under the Dawes plan to deduct- from reparations payments sums paid to her own nationals for the loss of property sequestrated in the Allied countries. The Allies are opposing the claim, contending that the Dawes annuities were intended to cover all payments to the Allies, and not to German nationals. —A.N.Z.C.A.
