GARDEN FETE
AT MR. Y. BARKER’S RESIDENCE, KAITi, TO-DAY. IN AID OF MACRAE BATH FUND. The good cause for which the garden party at Mr. \ ineent Barker’s residence at Kaiti is being held, a public bath for Gisborne, coupled with what is claimed to be one of the best entertainments ever given in this town, should see record crowds in the beautiful surroundings this afternoon and this evening. The committee, headed by the energetic organiser, Mr. F. Reade Wauchop, has gone to endless trouble in connection with the arrangements, no stone being left unturned to make the function the outstanding success of the year. The scene ori the lawns will be an animated one, with a punch and judv show, and numerous side-shows and stalls in full swing. One of the features of the function will he the Breezy Buskers, who will stage an open-air pierrot show produced by Mr. Wauchop, who will also appear as one of the pierrots in several numbers. The Buskers include, in addition to Mr. Wauchop, Mrs. Mainland Foster, Misses Nina Murphy, Clare, Ross, Sherriff (2), Brown, Bain (2), and Rowlands (2),-and Messrs. AY. Bignell, H. Johns, Ross, H. and L. Cato and Stewart. A bright and breezv programme has been arranged, and the performance will doubtless he given before large crowds. The Buskers will give four programmes throughout the daytwo in the afternoon and two in the evening. . Children will be specially cacored for, and prizes awarded for races, decorated cycles, go-carts, etc. Special arrangements have been made for the conveyance of the public Mrs. Wilcox’s buses leaving the Post Office at brief intervals during the afternoon and evening, commencing at 2.45 p.m.
