—.— FACSIMILE TELEGRAPH TRANSMISSION. MESSAGE REPRODUCED AT RECEIVING STATION. LONDON, Jan. 18. The Marconi company’s expert, Mr. G. M. Wright, is perfecting a system of facsimile telegraph transmission, dispensing with the key tapping operator, thus reducing the possibility of error, and saving both time and money. The written or typewritten message is simply placed on a cylinder and is duly reproduced in facsimile at the receiving station to which it is dispatched by wireless. Officials of the Marconi Co. say the system is only workable in conjunction with beam wireless and therefore will he one of the systems used in the inter-Empire services. While purely line drawings could he transmitted, the despatch of halftone pictures is not yet within range.—A. and N.Z.C'.A.
