ROYAL STANDARD CANNOT BE INCORPORATED
(Received Jan. 20. 1.25 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Jan. 19. 'When General Hertzog proposed to incorporate the Royal Standard in the South African national flag doubts were expressed as to the possibility of so doing, the Standard bein or the personal flag of tlia King. Jt* is new stated that the matter "as referred to the L’remier who replica that further information had convinced him that the Royal Standard could not- he incorporated in a national flag. General Kertzog’s Proposal. which was first announced at the Labor Congress, no doubt influenced Congress’ decision to support the Government’s flag policy.— A. and N.Z.O.A.
