BRITISH ARMY MEAT
WEDDELLS SECURE CONTRACT FOR ARGENTINE FACTORY. • DUE LARGELY TO PERSONAL TOUCH. (Received Jan. 20, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 20. It is understood that Weddells have secured the Army contract for their Argentine factory. Mr Hassan, the Australian Meat Council’s representative, says this result is not surprising. The success of tlie South American meat is due purely to organisation, militant marketing and the personal touch in the negotiations. “This is the gospel which the friends of Australian producers have been • preaching tor years. Though the price difference is apparently the determining factor vet previously, when successful with Australian tendering, difference was no greater.”—A.N.Z.C.A.
