WANGANUI SALE PRICES FIRM ON NAPIER RATES WANGANUI. Jan. 21. Tire second Wanganui wool sale of the 1926-27 season opened at 4 p.m. to-day, a large catalogue of 25,000 hales being offered to a fud bench of buyers. Bidding was. very keen, showing evidence that many buyers are operating on the fame limits. Prices were firm on Napier rates, with prices for finer grades satisfactory to growers. All classes cf wool were in demand, Bradford taking a big share, while Italy and Germany played a more prominent part than usual The sale is proceeding.—P. A. The range of prices was as follows : Fine crossbred, 46-48: Super 14d to loci; average I2d to 14d ; mlerior if a to 12-£-d. Medium crossbred, 44-46: Supei 13d to 14J-d; average lid to 13d; inferior 9|d to 10Jd. Coarse crossbred, 40-44: Super lid to 12d ; average 10*d to ll£d; inferior B£d to 10 id. Low crossbred: Super 10£d; average lOd to 10i‘d; inferior to 9)d. Hoggets, fine 43-48, 12£-d to 15id; medium 44-46 12d to 14-J-d; coarse 40-44, 10)d to‘l3’ d; low, 36-40, 10£d. Lambs down, 33-50, 13d to 16*d; fine, 40-44,1 id to 13d; seedy and inferior to lOi-d. Bellies and pieces: Crossbred low to medium, Bld to 12d. Locks, 6d to 8-J-d.
