Satisfying the public demand for feature comedies tile biggest prize the stage iias ever ottered was screened, ft is “Charley’s Aunt’’ the most successful farce ever written, adapted from the famous old play by Brandon Thomas with Sydney Cii api in in £T.e title role and commencing for a short season at the Opera House on Tuesday next. Twenty thousand pounds is the amount paid for the screen rights of “Charley’s Aunt.” Jt is one of the high spots of motion picture comedy and the people of this town are fortunate in getting an opportunity to view this laughing classic. As might have been expected everywhere the picture has been shown it has claimed everything before it. Alter playing for two weeks to capacity houses in Dublin, the picture had a second run and the management reported wonderful success and queues every night, while at* the “Grand Cinema” Bournemouth, the general manager wrote he had never seen a crowd like that which thronged his theatre when ‘Charley’s Aunt’ was shown. The theatre booked an extra week. In Limerick the "Grand Central reported all records broken for the town despite oppressive and big opposition. Indeed the excitement over the Aunt in Limerick was such that two summonses were issued to the management for overcrowding—the first time such action had to be taken in the town. This will give some idea of the kind of production to he shown here—jt one is fortunate enough to gain admission. ' '
