Oakley, and in thrilling finishes he conquered the local rider by two events to one. Lamb- was unplaced in his heat of the mile, the final of which was won by H. Oakley in 2min 13sec. The Australian won the if miles invitation scratch race by a wheel from T. Oakley, who led into the straight. P. Harrison (Wellington) was close up third. Time, -3.39 1-5. In the three mile, Harrison, from 150yds. took the‘ lead in the last lap and won by five yards. Lamb again had the best of T. Oakley, who was close up third. The time was 7.7. Lamb won his heat in the two miles handicap in 4.42 2-5, T. Oakley winning his heat in 4.37.
