POSITION NOW QUIET SYDNEY, Jan. 24. A .wireless message" from Bulolo states that a native sub-chief and several other natives captured in connection Avith tlie recent murders and taken to Salamoa sscaped and returned to Rabaul village. The Government party despatched to recapture them Avas met by 500 armed warriors and compelled to fire, killing eight natives. No further molestations ate e.spectcd.—U.P.A.
