A CRISP COMEDY. OPENING PERFORMANCE ON SATURDAY. ‘lbe Unfair Sex,” to be presented next Saturday, departs from the usual triangle and becomes a quadrangle, in that both husband and wile are engaged in the new science of experimental philandering. The selfjustification of each woman is a desire to provoke love in a man- by lii’rting with another man. “The Unfair Sex” is a diverting show ami provides a wonderful burlesque of human foibles. The comedy is crisply written, humorously conceived, and deliciously modern. Air Cunningham, the producer, has gathered round him a talented cast. In Miss Zillah Bateman the company has a charming ana gifted actress, who lias many successes to her credit, both in London and New York. Miss Henrietta Cavendish has been specially included to portray the role of Helen Delis.se, which she created in London, and other prominent artists are Messrs Carter, McC'alium, Bradley, and Jack Phillips, also Misses Sylvia Clifton, Beryl Barraelough, and Vera St. John. Three more famous .Loudon stage successes “The Sport ol Kings,” “Eliza Comes to Stay,” and “Outward Bound” will : also be presented during the season. The company commenced their New Zealand tour at Wellington and it took only twenty-four hours before theatre-go-ers realised what an excellent show had come to the capital city. From then onwards they were greeted with capacity houses. The company comes to Gisborne in all its metropolitan entirety of production, being staged on the same elaborate scale that characterised the performances in the world’s leading theatres. The four complete productions Will be shipped by the Wainui from Napier regardless of expense. The chief mechanist will come overland ahead in order to have everything ready for/the opening next Saturday night. The box plan opens this morning at Tatter,sall and Bayly’s at 9 a.m., when no doul>t there will be a big demand for Feats.
