MAGISTRATES' COURTS.

♦ CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, September 4. [Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., "R.M.] DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Louisa O'Brien, and Thomas Green, for this offence, were each fined 10s. DRUNK AND CREATING A DISTURBANCE. Thomas Upton for being drunk and creating a disturbance in the AJ. Hotel, was fined 20s or forty-eight hours. i DRUNK; AND, ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES. James Savage"and Catherine Boyle were charged with being drunk and illegally on the premise's 1 of Mr Oakes, St Asaph street. The prosecutor, did not appear and the. accused* were -each fined 10s for drunkenness. I In reply to his Worship, - r » . , Defendant said that he and his wife had made it up,.and that ,was why he did not answer the summons. ■ " " ■-■'-•;.■ Mrs Campbell told his Worship that her 'husband cainetdJhef add Uaadi that he had not deserted her but was only gone to look for work. He had -not supported her since their marriage, and she would like to have a protection order for hej earnings., ' ; | ,j" > His Worship administered a reproof to the defendant, for. not • appearing on Thursday, arid told him he was nearly issuing a warj. rant for his arrest. The case wouid be ad; journed until Monday, when Mr Callender would be present to give particulars, as to the assistance rendered by the Government to complainant. .
