U.O.C.C. V. CCC. This return match was continued on Saturday last, and resulted in an easy win for the latter by 120 runs. At the close of the play on the 13th instant, the game stood thus : 0.0. C., Ist innings, 76; 2nd innings, 36, with one wicket down; U.C.C.C., Ist innings, 45. The junior club had thus a very strong lead at the commencement of Saturday's play, which they managed to increase considerably before the innings terminated, the ninth wicket (one player being absent) not falling until a total of 95 was registered. The principal scorers being Reeder, 24 ; R. and K. Keut, 12 each ; Frith, 11 ; Nation, 10. The U.C.C.O. had now 127 to get to win which, as they had above an average batting team, was looked upon by nearly all as a certainty for them. The CCC bowling, however, was f ar|too good to admit of this, and a better illustration of the glorious uncertainty of the game than this innings could not be had, as the whole team were disposed of for half a dozen runs, which number, Bmall as it is, included a wide, Dawe being chief scorer with two singles. For the victors Taylor bowled in rattling style and was well seconded by Frith. Fearon's catch which disposed of Dawe was a remarkably good one. Subjoined is the score of Saturday's play :- ccc.
