NELSON AND FOX HILL RAILWAY.

The works on this line are now progressing satisfactorily. The Wairoa bridge is finished, and that over the Eighty-eight river will soon be completed. Messrs Bray expect to finish their contract in about a fortnight. Mr Scott’s contract for the erection of the several station buildings throughout the line is in hand, and will be finished in about four months, and tenders for laying the permanent way were to be sent in yesterday. The buildings to be erected at the Nelson terminus in St Vincent street, will consist of a passenger station, goods shed, carriage shed, engine store, &c. The erection of these buildings and the filling in of the mudfiat will much improve that part of the city.
