MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, July 5, [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq, R.M;] Drunk and Disorderly.— George Smith, Alice Wolfenden, Richard Goodwin, and Michael Corrigan were each fined 5s for drunkenness. Thos. Butler was lined 10s, and Mary Ann Kirkwood and Theresa Dixon (old offenders) 40s each. Benjamin Pearce, charged with being drunk and committing a nuisance in a railway carriage, was fined 20s. Fighting. —Hugh Gibson and Henry Silvester were charged with fighting in the Lincoln road on Saturday night. Gibson, who was proved to have been the aggressor, was fined 10s, and Silvester was discharged. Creating a Disturbance.— Henry Tilley was charged with creating a disturbance in the Papanui Hotel. The wife of the accused was employed at the hotel. After hearing the evidence, the Bench. cautioned the accused and dismissed tyie case,
