In pursuance of Clause 83 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, I hereby give notice that the ANNUAL ELECTION of Councillors under the Act will take place on THURSDAY, the 9th day of September next. And I hereby require all candidates to be nominated as hereinafter mentioned before the day of nomination (Friday, the 27th day of August), at the office of the Town Clerk. The retiring Councillors are—Messrs J, T, Rouse* T. Grange, and W. Young, Avho are eligib le for re-election. Auy person desirous of nominating a candidate must do so by leaving at the office of the Town Clerk, before four o’clock in the afternoon, on THURSDAY, the 26th h/stant, a nomination paper in the former t,o the effect given in the 9th schedule of the Act. Such nomination paper must be signed by not less than three persons duly qualified to vote at the election, and also by the person named therein as candidate.
