LEESTON CRICKET CLUB V. ELLESMERE CRICKET CLUB.
On Thursday, a match was played between the above clubs, which, thanks to the brilliant play of several of the Leeston team, and the indifferent bowling on the part of the E.C.C, resulted in an easy victory for the former, who ran up one of the largest scores ever obtained on the riouthbridge cricket ground. The weather was everything that could be desired, and a very enjoyable day's cricket was passed, the ground being enliveued during the afternoon by the presence of a large number of ladies and friends. As shown in the scores below, double figures were obtained by several members of the Leeston eleven, Mr C. H. Parker's 24 being put together in very good style. Luncheon was provided on the ground by Mr T. Bailey, who likewise supplied refreshments during the course of the day. Annexed are the total scores obtained : i. s Leeston Eleven. First innings.
