MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.

CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, December 4. (Before Gi. L. Mellish, Esq. R.M.) Stealing Beer.— Alexander McKenzie and Francis Coyne was brought up, charged with this offence. The accused had entered the back yard of the Borough Hctel, between four and five o’clock this morning, had knocked out the bung of a beer hogshead, and were pouring the beer from it into a broken bottle, when seen by the cook of the hotel. Inspector Buckley said there were other men implicated in the offence, and he would ask the Bench for a remand until Monday, His Worship granted the remand until that day.
