POST-OFFICE NOTICES.
Thursday, October 19. Mails per Australia will close as under— For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, at 11.25 a.m. ; late letters, 11.45 a.m. For the Continent of Europe, America, Canada, Fiji, and Sandwich Islands, &c, &c, at 11 a.m. ; late letters, 11.20 a.m. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, at 11.25 a.m. ; late letters, 11.45 a.m. Money orders must be obtained before 10 a.m. Registered letters received up to 10.30 a.m. Important. The pillar receiver at the railway station must not be used for late letters. Late letters for the mails, per Australia, can be posted at the guard’s van at the railway station by the 12.25 p.m. train ; provided such letters bear, in addition to the full postage, a further single rate of postage as a late fee. Friday, October 20. For Southern ports. Saturday, October 21. For Northern ports. The English mail, via Suez, will close at Christchurch on Monday, 23rd instant. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
