In celebration of the abolition of the provinces today was observed as a general holiday. Although no public demonstration was made, in consequence of being unable until the last moment to ascertain the date of the prorogation of the Assembly, business in the town was almost entirely sus pepded., The shops were all closed, and pifenicing, rabbit shooting, &c, the order of the day.
