CANTERBURY RAM FAIR.
The annual ram fair in connection with the Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held Thursday. There was a good attendance of local buyers, but the absence of many of the usual Northern and Southern visitors was particularly noticeable. Fair average prices were realised, and the stock as a whole on the ground (in only a few cases want of condition being apparent) was a credit to the district. The majority of Messrs Li. and E. McLean's rams were withdrawn from sale, as they had been let by Mr E. W. Mitchell before his turn came to put them up to auction. The following is the list of the principal sales made :
