Mails close at the Chief Post Offloo for the following plaoes as under, subject to tho noccssary alterations ,- esdaY) mYimßm 19 . For Otago, per Hawca, at 11.30 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.50 a.m.; guard's van, railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For United Kingdom, for letters specially marked via Suez or Brindisi, and for tho Australian colonies, India, China, and tho East, Aden, Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, etc., &c, will close nt 1 p.m. ; late fee letters, 1.20 p in. For money orders aud registered letters, at noon. Newnpapers and books, at 12.30 p.m. Late fee letters may bo posted in guard's van, railway station until 2.40 p.m. Tho mail via Southampton will be duo in London on January 20th, and via Brindisi on January 13th, 1H79 The next mail outwards, via San Francisco, closes at Christ church on Friday, December 6th.
