(Rec. 12.50) LONDON, May 10. The Tokio official radio announced that an Allied submarine shelled the vicinity of Horobetsu Village on the south-eastern coast of Hokkaido Island last night. The shells landed in a field and caused no damage or casualties. The Associated Press says that Hokkaido is ’ the second largest island of the string constituting the Japanese homeland. , A raid by American planes on Tomgking province in Indo-China is reported by the Tokio official rad’o, which claims that a few bombs wounded civilians, but caused no other damage.
