The New Zealand Stud Company has purchased Spinaker, by Albany—Spiritsail, and Speargrasg, by Traduoer—Toi-Toi, from Mr G. G. Stead. A Sheep Farmer’s Protection Association has been formed at Rangiora, Canterbury, to protect the farmers against the extensive sheep stealing which has taken place recently. A rather uncommon thing occured on the Flemington training track recon ly. While the hurdle racehorse Maori was quietly cantering a sparrow flow up against him and was killed.
