Fully 12,000 people were present at the races, including His Excellency Lord Carrington and Miss Jervow. There were very few sensational wagers Among the largest winners was a solicitor who landed £7OOJ 6a the Metropolitan. Limo Lid’s victory was very popular, and ho has been backed for the Melbourne Cup at 10 to 1.
