Salvation Army.

The following are some of the facts and figures which were adduced by Commandant Booth, in his address, last Friday evening :—At the end of the year 1882, the Salvation Army bed 442 corps, with 1067 officers (or evangelists), all of whioh were in England. Now there are 1317 corps, containing 3227 officers, in England, and abroad 1096 corps, having 8175 officers, this making a grand total of 2413 corps and 6402 officers now engaged in this work throughout the world. In addition to these corps there are abroad 548 outposts, which are towns, villages, or districts where services are held regularly several times a week, but where separate salaried officers have not yet been stationed. In Australasia ths Army has 259 corps and 308 outposts, with 633 officers, which are distributed as follows: New Zealand, 51 corps, 120 officers; Victoria, 57 corps, 150 office.™; South Australia, 47 corps, 97 officers; New South Wales, 77 corps, 188 officers; Tasmania, 11 corps, 28 officers; and Queensland, 1G corps, 50 officers. In Canada and the United States the number of corpsis 581, and outposts 200,having a total number of 1586 officers. The War Cry, the official gazette of the Salvation Army, wae started in England nine years ago as a biweekly paper, with a circulation of 17,000. It has now a circulation thoughout the world, of 680,000 per week, as a Id paper in England, and in some countries 2d.
