Gisborne Cricket Club.

The annual meeting of the above Club took place in the Masonic Hotel on Tuesday evening, Mr J. W. Nolan being voted to the chair. Mr G. Johnstone, in the absence of ths Secretary (Mr R. Billantyne), read the report and balance sheet, the latter showing a balance in hand of £1 3s 7d. Some discussion ensued as to the advisabdity of the Club continuing in the face of the small support given to cricket, but it was decided that as the Club was in funds things should go on as usual. The officers ware then elected as fol-lows'.-—President, Mr C. Evans; vice-presi-dents, Messrs W. L. Rees, H. J. Finn, and J. W. Matthews; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr B. N. Jones; committee, Messrs Nolan, E. Lewis, F. T. Morgan, and P. Dutaur; auditor, Mr G. Johnstone. It was decided to open the season on October 20, the Committee to arrange a mateh for that date. Instructions were also given to the Committee to endeavor, if possible, to obtain a practice ground neat town, Votes of thanks to the outgoing officete and the chair ooncladad the proceedings!
