Storm Ravages in Cuba.

[per mail steamer.] Details of a cyclone—or more properly a hurricane—which occuired on the Island of Cuba on the 4th September, show an awful destruction of life and property. The total damage is estimated at 10,090,000 dols, and over 800 people lost their lives. Thousands of people are homeless and perishing from hunger. The Spanish Government has distributed 20,000 dola among the sufferers. The greatest damage caused was at Sagna and Isabella, where over a thousand dwellings wire destroyed. Ten thousand people are left homeless and there is great misery. The lighthouse situate on Cape Frances was completely demolished, and the lighthousekeeper and two other men drowned. The gun-boat Lealtad, in port at Bartoleano, foundered, and nine of the crew, including the captain, perished. The Spanish warship Jouoge Juruan,’in port at Savanna, also lost several by drowning. The City-of Cardenas is In * fearful condition ; the losses there will Yescii [ a million. A village called Pueblo Nuevo, in tha neighbourhood of Sagua, was literally obliterated ; not a vettage remains.
