QUEENSLAND'S GOVERNOR.
AN APPOINTMENT MADE. GOVERNMENT REFUSE TO CONSULT QUEENSLAND. London, Deo. 1. It is announced that General Sir Henry Wyllie Norman, Governor of Jamaica, has been appointed Governor of Queensland. Baron de Worms, replying to Mr Pritchard Morgan, said the Government did not intend to consult Queensland in the choice of a Governor. It is reported that amongst those who refused thn Queensland Governorship were Lord Hardwicke and three other nob’ernen.
The resolutions passed by the Victorian Legislation with reference to the appointment of colonial Governors was received with cheers on being read in the House of Commons to-day.
