The New Zealand Methodist is naturally very indignant at the telegram which was published in New Zealand over two months -go regarding an alleged disturbance at the laying of the foundation stone of the Wesley Memorial Church at Epworth. English appers contain no account of any such disturbance, and the Methodist says:'-—‘‘A serious charge lies against the Press Association for the publication of such an utterly baseless and misleading report. The ministers referred to as having been exposed to the fury of a mob have relatives in this colony, who, naturally enough, have been very much pained by the report of their injuries. The entire Methodist community has been slandered by the reported ou rage, which was said to have been the result of a violent quarrel among the Methodists themselves."
