A lad in Opswa, whilst bir Ines ting, fell from tbe roof of tbe Aquarium building, nearly 18ft, and was carried into tbe house, his mishap causing a considerable amount of alarm on bis account, but within half-an-hour he appeared all right, and again took to sparrow hunting, the fun ot seeing young sparrows devoured by large trout evidently possessing a great fascination. His next exploit was to get into one of the ponds, and then finished up with a fall from a swing Fortunately his mother was not a witness to these thrilling adventures. In dealing with the case of Louisa Cullins in the Naw South Wales Assembly Sir Henry Parkes related the case of the woman, Mary Brownlow, who was executed several years ago at Goulbourn. He said the woman, who was young, and married, and a mother, killed her husband with a knife in a fit of temper, for which she was sentenced to death. Efforts were made to secure her reprieve, but in vain. The unfortunate woman had a young child at her breast, and just before ascending the scuff fid steps gave to her child maternal nourishment, and then passed under ths hands of the bangman. A howl of indignation shot up from all sides of the House, and there were cries of “ Shame,” stc. Sir Henry added that he thought the execution an inhuman thing, but he contrasted her cue of impulsive murder with that ot the plotting Botany Borgia. NERVOUS.
