Alf. Lawton’s Last Sensation Company open at the Academy of Mask to-night, for* two nights only, after a siiooeseful season in Auokland. Mr Lawton is well known to Um Gisborne public; his comicalities and funny sayings is a sure cure for liver complaint—his original act “ It's bettor to laugh than cry” would, says one who has witnessed it, even make a horse laugh. Mias Clara Spencer appears in her lightning changes, character impersonations, serio-oomic and latest dude songs ot the day, also German specialties. Mr Charles Clarke, the eminent baritone, who has lately arrived from London, sings a choice selection ot ballads, all new. Miss Essie Dean, sobrette and vooaliit, who has been so successful throughout the colonies, will a’so prove that the hss well earned her reputation. With ouch well known artiste a good entertainment is promised, tree from all coarseness—mirth, music and laughter, to conclude with the laughable farce Love, Divorce end Poison.
