Hawke’s Bay Education Board.

Napier, last'night. The Education Board election takes place shortly, and there is a general feeling prevalent that there should be a change of blood. The Evening News, in tho course of an article on the subject, has the following" We hope the School Committees throughout the Hawke’s Bay district will vote for new blood on the Education Board. We do not wish to underrate the value of the services rendered by the present members of the Board, but we do think that a change is highly desirable. We would therefore strongly recommend school committees to vote for Messrs C. Hall

and R. Dick. Mr Hall has done excellent service on the Land Board. He is a well educated, shrewd-witted man, and he has expressed on more than one occasion his disgust at the extremely cavalier manner in which the representations of country school committees are treated by the Education Board. Briefly put, we should say Mr Hall’s platform is fair play to the country schools. As to Mr Dick, he has proved himself a very capable member of two local bodies—the School Commitlee and the Borough Council. Mr Dick is an extremely well educated man, of great experience in educational matters, and he would, we feel sure, if elected, see that the interests of the various school committees are properly regarded.
