The Recent Race Meeting
|TO THE EDITOR.) Sir,—You have in a measure given prominence to one or two unpleasantnesses which have occurred during the recent race meeting, but, Sir, there are others which outsiders like myself would like to have explained. Those who now and again make private wagers, ranging from shillings to pounds on the various events were considerably surprised at certain rumours which were given currency to on the course, and for this reason I would like to have an answer to a couple of queries. Was Patchwork ever entered for the Maiden Plate 1 Did Mr Warrington ever accept for the Tradesmen’s Handicap with Dancing Master? If answered in the negative than all I can say is the public have been grossly misled, and that there has been something going bn decidedly not correct,—Yours, *c SrzOTAToa,
