A shocking trapeze accident occurred on December 12th in a cafe ehantant, called the Orpheutn, at Qfen, the town on the opposite pf the Danube to Peatb; ‘‘Mademoiselle Clalrette ” was giving a performance on the trapeze, in which she holds by the teeth her little boy of five years old, when suddenly the rope gave way, and mother and child won precipitated to the ground, the former falling heavily on the latter. There was a fearful outcrv among the audience. On picking up the child it was found among other injuries, te have lost an eye, whilst the mother H suffering from soncuuisa of the brain.
