During a quarrel between a number of sea faring men on the railway wharf at about midnight on Thursday an alleged stabbing affray took place. It seems that an entertainment of some kind had been given on board the German barqne Oberon; lying at the railway wharf, and a number of men belonging to the German barque Triton, lying at ; the Queen’s Wharf were present. They, with the peculiar faculty of seamen, drank rather deep, and when they left the vessel were naturally in an elated state. On the wharf several of the revellers fell out on some subject, and two of them came to blows. A man named Charles Boldt, of the Triton, went between them, and he alleges that one of the combatants, Jakob Andresson drew hia knife and stabbed him in the hands, These facts were given by SergtMajor Morice at the Magistrate’s Court this morning, when Andreosson was charged with the offence. The informant,. Boldt, did not appear, and the sergeant said he suspected he was purposely keeping out of the way, and in that case he would ask for a remand. Constable O’Brien’s evidence was taken, which showed that he heard of the disturbance, and going down the wharf found Boldt, who had a cut about a quarter of an inch long on each hand, between the'thumb and forefinger, and his hands were covered with blbod.
