SUPREME COURT.
THE MURDER CASE. BEFORE HtS HONOR JUDGE RICHMOND. The charge against Haira te Piri in connection with the murder of the late Mr, Mrs and Bertie Pook, was brought on at the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning. Jury J. R. Cook, F. J. Oatridge, W. Morgan (Foreman), J. Campbell, M. Jennings, G. A. Farmer, M. Todd, R. P. Bourke, J. McKenzie, J. Longley, J. Tutchen, R. Turnbull. Mr Gully with Mr Nolan appeared for the Crown, and Messrs Kenny and Watson appeared for the accused. Mr Gully made an elaborate review of the evidence, his address lasting over an hour, A large number of witnesses have been examined, but no fresh evidence has been elicited.
It is expected that the case will be concluded at an early hour to-day.
FORGEBT AND HORSE-STEALING. Hami Tarahu, who pleaded Guilty te these charges, was sentenced to six months in the Napier gaol, on each offence, the sentences to run concurrently.
