Mr Chambers has challenged Mr Shelton to resign, and he will undertake to do the same, so that they may both offer themselves for re-election, and give the country ratepayers an opportunity of selecting the candidate who represeuts the views of the majority. Both members represent the country, but hold views diametrically opposed to each other, Mr Shelton has taken a week to consider the matter. It is probable that a meeting of ratepayers will be held to consider the Board'll position.
