The well-known Australian horse Ringmaster won ths Billisden Handicap at the Leicester Spring Meeting—run in London on the 7th inst, —easily. An objection was at once lodged on the ground that the horse bad not been habitually trained in England, but it was overruled. Bully for Australia. The race for the Bicycle Championship of New Zealand over a distance of 25 miles was run off on Tuesday last in the Auckland Domain, and was won by A. G. Buchanan in the splendid time of Ihr 32min ISsec. Four others started. Buchanan’s record is a highly creditable one, being made upon a grass track, and even then eclipsing all previous championship records, which were run on cinder courses, and the best of which is given as Ihr 35min 17sec. Several private watches made the time Ihr Sljtnin, but the official record is more to be depended on. Buchanan received quite an ovation, being carried shoulder high to the pavilion, amid vociferous applause.
