THE SAMOAN DISASTER.
London, May 8. Dr. Knepps, formerly the Gorman Consul st Samoa, in a White Book, just published, condemns tbe unwarrantable hoisting of the American and British Sage, and hints that ths lands belong to tbe Natives.
He alleges the Natives pledged some lands claimed by Germany in return for arms and ammunition.
He holds that he was therefore j notified in hoisting his own national flag. He states tbe Commander of the British Cruiser Boyslist declare! that he would not support claims to this hypothecated land. An American firm for years hare imported handkerchiefs with the national colors, and portraits of tbs President of the United States, and since tbe ontbreak of hostilities these have been hoisted over houses and hats recklessly. Berlin is greatly excited at the inopportune publication.
