THE YANKEES SCARED.
GOT AN IDEA THAT THE BRITISH _ MEAN SOMETHING. London, May 12. ™ A scare has been caused at Washington, the fortifications at Vancouver, by which the whole of tha western coast of the United States would be placed at tbe mercy of the British in case of war.
The “ scare ’’ is probably the work of some of the indefatigable Amerioan newspaper men who have a fondness for creating excite, meat, but the telegram is intensely humorous all the same.
