Pre-Sessional Address.
Invbbcargill, May 22, Mr Cowan, Member for Hokonui, addressed the electors last night, receiving a vote ot thanks and confidence. He said a feature ot the present Parliament was the presence ot a number of New Zealand born Members, whose conduct gave hope that they would make first * rate statesmen. He eulogised Mr Richardson’s land administration, and thought the time would come when education above the fourth standard would have to be paid tor, Charitable Aid was too lavish, and the cost
should some from the general property, and not land alone. He praised the Government's efforts to retrench, and would continue supporting them.
