ARRIVALS. The cutter Venus, which arrived in the Bay on Sunday morning, made a good passage ot 16 hours from Napier. On arrival she dropped anchor in the roadstead, but the wind freshening, it was considered advisable topnt to sea again. On heaving up the anchor the chain parted, and the cutter had to keep nnder way until the following morning, when Captain Kennedy kindly took out a spare chain and anchor. The cutter was again brought to an anchorage in the Bay on Tuesday morning, as there was not sufficient water on the bar to allow her to come into the river. She brings 15,000 ft of timber, 400 posts, and 20 strainers for H. E. Johnston, and 6000 ft of timber for J. A. Harding. An attempt was made to get her into the river yesterday, but she could npt be got past the end of the breakwater, and the cutter had to be taken to an anchorage in the bay again. IMPOBTS. Per Waiwera—lSO sacks flour, 240 J sacks flour, 120 J sacks flour, 247 sacks oats, 36 sacks pollard, 10 sacks oatmeal, orders. TELEGRAPHIC. Post Chaimebs, Tuesday. Arrived—Waihora, from Bluff, at 7 a.m. Bailed—Lorna Doone, for Melbourne. Bailed—Pukaki, for Bluff, at 1.40 p.m. Yesterday. Arrived—Te Anau, from Lyttelton, at 4.55 p.m. Sailed—Waihora, for Lyttelton, at 3.55 p.m. Lyttelton, yesterday. Sailed—Takapuna, for Wellington, with a Brindisi mail. A steamer passed Pakarae at 7.10 last Bight. The bar is at present in a very bad condition, and consequently the work of getting vessels into the river is performed with great difficulty. On Tuesday morning, the tenders Snark and Noko were engaged fully two hours in getting the schooner Waiwera (from Camera) over the bar. The schooner grounded on taking the bar, and the tow line parted and nearly sent the vessel on the rooks on the Waikanae side. She was with grsat difficulty brought alongside the wharf. The s.l. Weka leaves Napier at 1 o’clock to-day and is due here st about 10 o’clock thia evening. The brigantine Clansman was towed off the beach at noon yesterday, and was berthed alongside the breakwater shortly afterwards, The Maitai is expected to arrive from Auckland, via coastal ports, thia afternoon, The last launch is at present fixed to leave the wharf at 5 p.m. The Botomabana, from Sydney and Auckland, arrives here at about noon to-morrow. The outward passengers will leave the wharf at 4 p.m. The Waihora leaves Wellington to-morrow evening, and calls at Napier on the following day, arriving here early on Sunday morning. She goes on to Auckland and Sydney on the same day. The schooner Waiapu is due here at the latter end of next week, from Auckland, via way ports.
