JACK THE RIPPER ” SAID TO BE IN
THE COLONY.
Melboubnb. May 21.
A sensation among gossips has been created here by a report that “ Jack the Bipper ” has arrived in Melbourne, and intends to continue his terrible work in the Colonies. A letter to that effect has been received by the police, and there is no doubt that extra precautions have been taken. The whole affair ie doubtless a hoax, and not worth paying any attention to, but it is quite a windfall for those gossips who are fond of circulating all kinds of reports with • “A out the shadow of foundation,
