The Kuaotuna “Rush.."

A correspondent writing from Coroniandel gives the following information in regard to Kuoatuna (Whangapoua), of which mention has recently been made in the telegrams I— locality seems to be the new Eldorsdo, judging from reports and the samples of stone brought in, A small piece of stone frpm Kawhiqi's (Qoffln’s) claim was crushed here and yielded a most extraordinary prospect, Ths reef is some four fest thick snd shows gold all along. There are four claims on the same reef, and all allege they are on payable gold. These olsims are shoot four men each. There are several other claims adjoining, whiuh are ail said to be on payable gold. Tbere seems to be ovsry probability that a good payable field has besn discovered. It will h< remembered that twenty years ago some ounce nuggets and specimens were found in a creek called the Waitai, Mercury Bay. This however, is not confirmed, nor ia it likely to be. There has been an amount of vigorous prbepMtliig ifoM in tpe Msrqury Bay district for some months past; add ‘ though nothing rich'his been struck, gold Uss been scan frkely in sotpe small leaders, showing the ground is auriferous, tud deseryec proper working. It la known that sOßtewJters in this vicinity vary heavy gqlfl was' got eomeyeate ag'm'but ths locality was never discovered owing tq ths sudden death of the man who mad? the find but who bad not revealed the plage,
