NAPIER PARK RACE MEETING. Nasibk, last night. , After several unavoidable postponements’ owing to the very severe weather we have experienced here for the last fortnight, the Napier Park Racing Club were enabled to hold their steeplechase meeting on Tuesday last. The attendance on the course was very good considering that rain fell heavily in the morning. The following are the results :—Pony: Kapai 1, Marama 2, Elena 3; dividends, £? 5s and £3. Juns Handicap : Soudan 1, Dauphine 2, Bronte 3 ; Ariel was greatly fancied for this event, but after half a mile had been traversed he was completely out. paced, the big grey winning a good race by a short head, paying his backers £4 7s and £1 IBs respectively. Handicap Steeplechase‘s Panic 1, Chemist 2, Defamer 3; four oui of a field of eight refused the second jump, Pan’o and Defamer got over, and raced together in grand style for nearly two miles; entering the straight Eilingham brought Chemist along and passed bis stable companion, but failed to collar the southerner, who, jumping in splendid style, won by about a length and ahalf ; dividends, £ll 14s and £ll 17s. Winter Oats Handicap : Pretender 1, Kariri 2, Bangapai 3; won by a short head ; dividends, £ll 19s and £ll 2s, Handicap Hurdles : Chemist 1, Waterfall 2, Jubilee 8 ; dividends, £lO 2s and £9 4s.
